Wuthering Waves players manage to break the server for top-up and in-game purchases as the much-awaited 1.1 update goes live with the Yinlin banner.
The newest Electro Resonator of Wuthering Waves, Yinlin, has always been a popular character even before the game’s official release. Because her banner was long known to be the first one after release, many have opted to skip Jiyan’s banner to wait for Yinlin’s arrival.
While most Wuthering Waves players have known that Yinlin’s update was a massive success in waiting, we may have underestimated her power over the community.
Players and streamers worldwide have reported having issues with the app’s top-up services, as the servers may have had to bear more than they could accommodate upon Yinlin’s release. Some players received the prompt of services being “busy,” while others encountered errors on their order placements.
In a swift response to the server issues, Kuro Games has announced a compensation of 160 Astrite for all players, regardless of whether they were directly affected by the top-up server issues. This compensation, applicable to all accounts created before June 6, 2024, can be claimed until June 28, 2024.
The continued success of Wuthering Waves continues to break the gaming community’s expectations. Despite being a much-awaited title and a “Genshin Impact killer,” many players were concerned that the future and the sales would be affected by the multiple bugs, translation errors, and corporate issues Kuro Games faced.
This is far from the first compensation Kuro Games issued, even though their game has only been out for two weeks. Nevertheless, players are still eager to support their new game even though the developers have issued abundant free resources.
And upon rumors of the upcoming characters succeeding Yinlin’s banner, the community could only brace their banks and expect news of bigger Kuro Games revenue further down the line.
Yinlin’s banner will run until June 27, 2024.
