Wuthering Waves’ developer team has issued another apology and compensation after more “gamebreaking” bugs were identified.
Wuthering Waves is a gacha action role-playing game (ARPG) developed and published by Kuro Games, the same company behind Punishing: Gray Raven. It was released on May 22, 2024, for the PC, iOS, and Android. The game had been receiving mixed reactions from its playerbase.
In Wuthering Waves, you play as the Rover, which Chixia and Yangyang find unconscious. From there, you begin your adventure in Jinzhou and discover your importance. Players can explore the open world to their hearts’ content, level up, collect Echoes, and more.
As fun as the combat mechanics are, players encounter different bugs that affect their gameplay. They also find exploits such as getting extra Shell Credits when recycling developed Echoes. The Wuthering Waves development team has issued an apology regarding the issue.
In an in-game mail, they stated, “Recently, we received feedback regarding abnormal item output of Shell Credit when recycling developed Echoes. We will fix this issue through a hotfix and provide compensation to all Rovers.”
They addressed how the issue will be fixed, “Additionally, for those affected by this issue, we will implement the following measures: Within 14 business days, the excess Shell credit obtained due to this issue will be removed.”
The dev team then apologized, “We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and we appreciate your support for Wuthering Waves and your understanding.”
Players will be compensated for the inconvenience with 160 Astrites and 600,000 Shell Credits. To get these, players must have created a character and have their mailbox function unlocked before 10:00 of May 30, 2024 (UTC+8). This would be available until 05:59 of July 3, 2024 (UTC+8).
As one of the players didn’t understand the fix, an X user explained that there had been an exploit where if a player recycled a certain echo, it would provide more Shell Credits than it was supposed to. They believe that players who used the exploit will have the excess Shell Credits removed due to unfairness and everyone else will be compensated
