Wuthering Waves has provided a fix and compensation for players amidst the performance issues during launch.
Wuthering Waves is an open-world action role-playing game developed and published by Kuro Games, the same company behind Punishing: Gray Raven. It was released globally on PC and mobile on May 23, 2024 (UTC+8).
Many players have awaited the arrival of Wuthering Waves as it seemed intriguing, from the storyline, characters, gameplay and controls, and much more. The game definitely has its own charm, and I personally love the parkour-like actions we can do against walls.
However, players have reported issues with the game’s performance, including lags, framerate drops, overheating, blurred screens, game crashes, and more. This prompted the developers to apologize, fix, and compensate the players, as announced in their Bilibili account.
They stated, “Due to the poor experience brought about by the performance issues, the project team would like to solemnly apologize to all the Rovers who care about Wuthering Waves. We apologize for not being able to bring a better gaming experience to our first official meeting with you, for bringing unnecessary troubles to all drifters who were looking forward to Wuthering Waves, and for letting you down.”
The developers assured that they have already fixed the issues: “In addition, the project team has already updated and repaired the urgent problems with more feedback (such as inability to log in, overheating within a short period of time, etc.), prioritizing to ensure the stability of the game process.”
They suggested checking the device’s load status in the Settings to fix the performance issues. If it’s at the “overload” state, it is recommended to lower the graphic settings until the “Current setup load” is at Smooth.
To further express their apology, they compensated the players with 10 Lustrous Tides, the standard summoning item, on May 24, 2024 at 06:00 (UTC+8). Players must have completed creation before 03:59 (UTC+8) on July 3, 2024 and have a Union Level of 2 or more. This can be claimed in the mail.
