Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile’s launch has received harsh criticism from players over its graphics and gameplay, with players already calling it “trash.”
Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile was developed with high expectations. It aims to translate the intense, strategic gameplay of the beloved Call of Duty: Warzone franchise to mobile devices. Promising an authentic Warzone experience on the go, it features iconic maps such as Verdansk and Rebirth Island, along with various multiplayer modes.
However, despite the anticipation and the game’s promising features, the initial release has been met with a chorus of criticism from the player base as it did not meet the player’s expectations of the game.
The game’s unveiling has not gone as smoothly as anticipated. Player feedback has highlighted issues with Warzone Mobile’s graphics and gameplay mechanics. Many within the community have taken to social media and forums to express their frustrations, citing various problems, from poor graphical quality to gameplay performance issues.
Complaints have ranged from comparisons of the game’s graphics to those of lesser-sized games, which allegedly offer better visual quality, to significant overheating issues reported on even the most recent and powerful smartphones.
A player expressed deep disappointment, labeling the 7.5GB game ‘trash.’ They lamented that despite the hefty download size—a 1.5GB app plus a 5GB additional download—the game’s visuals were lackluster, especially compared to lighter apps like Freefire.
Players have raised serious concerns about severe overheating, with temperatures reaching a 42°C during installation and gameplay. This, coupled with rapid battery drain, has left players dissatisfied, particularly compared to previous versions of Call of Duty: Mobile.
Another significant issue highlighted by players is connectivity, with one noting that playing Warzone Mobile is like cloud gaming on a 2G network. Moreover, several players reported being stuck on the “connecting server” screen when attempting to play regular Battle Royale on Verdansk despite using high-end devices.
Graphical quality emerged as a frequent area of disappointment, with several players noting that the visuals did not match up to those seen in Call of Duty: Mobile’s initial release. The sentiment was that the development team had missed the mark in creating a mobile game that lived up to expectations, leading to perceptions of a poorly executed port.
Despite the considerable excitement leading up to its release, as evidenced by over 50 million pre-registrations, the initial feedback for Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile has been overwhelmingly negative.
