After reports of bug abuse on ranked, Valorant officially excludes Split from the map pool until the next patch update on all game modes.
Valorant players have reported several map and match bugs in their recent ranked games, including gun swaps in each round, phantom Cypher trips, and map exploits that grant an unfair competitive advantage. Given these reports, Riot Games has decided to exclude Split from all game mode map pools until the next patch.
Aside from the bugs in the Split map, some players report “guns that cannot be picked up” as one of the issues in the game. Some Valorant players even go as far as advising others to stop playing or not queue ranked games until issues are resolved.
Valorant’s official X account announcement states that Split will be excluded from the Competitive, Unrated, Premier, Swiftplay, and Spike Rush map pools. The developers clarified that Cypher will remain available on the Agent pool, suggesting that the issue is with the Split map and not the agent.
As this week’s Premier map pool includes Split, Riot Games has also decided to replace the map with Ascent to avoid bug misuse.
A streamer caught the Cypher trip bug on a clip, wherein the trips can still be seen despite being deactivated. As most bug clips occur on Split, the bug may indeed be exclusive to the map.
Other bugs include Jett’s ability to stand on the ledge on A Main and a Sage wall bug that lets teammates shoot from a seemingly invulnerable angle.
Riot Games announced that the map will return to the pool on Patch 8.08.
