Valorant’s newest duelist still remains an unpopular pick among pros as Iso remains unpicked with three tournaments of the 2024 VCT Season.
As we’ve said on our map Agent guides, winning in Valorant starts from your Agent Select screen. Going in a map prepared with an Agent with the perfect-cut abilities to give your team an advantage can mean more than your aim in a Valorant match.
Given the insane importance of team comps in Valorant, many look to the S-tier pro scene for the best abilities and agents on the map. However, if there’s one Agent who seems to be a “bottom of the barrel” pick for most pro players, it’s Iso.
With VCT Kickoff and the first Masters of the year over and regional tournaments underway, Iso still remains with a lackluster zero pick rate across all regions. Making Iso the first duelist to suffer the “snub-fest” among pros.
Despite being released last year in October, this season marks Iso’s debut in the S-tier competitive scene. Considering that the VCT 2023 season had an early conclusion with VCT Champions held in August.
However, no duelist had as bad a debut as Iso. Two months into the season and three tournaments, the self-shielding agent has yet to experience the limelight of competitive play.
This absolutely abysmal pick rating is overshadowed by the popularity of other duelists, Jett and Raze, who also seem to be standard picks given the current map pool. Meanwhile, Neon takes a step back in the pick rating, with Yoru being a more viable second-duelist pick for most teams.
On the other hand, the Viper meta era continues in VCT, with the controller still ranking first in total pick rating. Her fellow controller and smoker, Omen, shares the spotlight with a 62% pick rating and is the top Agent in the APAC region.
With Iso being a widely unpopular agent in pro and ranked plays, many players wonder if Iso buffs are due soon. What could be improved in Iso’s kit to make him a viable agent in the pro scene? Let us know in the comments below.
