Stardew Valley fans have discovered a maze in Mayor Lewis’ basement leading to his lucky purple shorts in the 1.6 update.
Stardew Valley is a beloved cozy farming simulation game by Eric “ConcernedApe” Barone. It was initially released for the PC in 2016 and has been released on other platforms in the following years.
Players are given their grandpa’s old farm plot next to Pelican Town. They can do as they please, from planting crops, caring for animals, fishing, mining, or meddling in other people’s basements.
When you befriend Lewis, you can enter his room freely. Stardew Valley fans uncovered an easter egg with a maze for the Lucky Purple Shorts.
The Reddit user shared what they found by watching BlaDe’s stream on code diving in Stardew Valley. They explained that if a player used a staircase in Lewis’ bedroom, it would lead to the basement. Players would be greeted with a maze of barrels and crates, and the Lucky Purple Shorts would gloriously wait at the end.
Once you reach the end of the maze and finally get the Lucky Purple Shorts, a flying one will spawn near the start and will follow you. You’ll need to escape by going through the maze again. Be fast, as the flying shorts are actually invincible and deal a good amount of damage to you.
Players can repeatedly do this and get the Lucky Purple Shorts, which can stack up to 999 times. If you want to do this, all the valid staircase spots are inside the bedroom. This referenced how players could put the staircase in the pants slot, and it would turn into the Trimmed Lucky Purple Shorts.
I just had to try it for myself, so I went straight to Lewis’ bedroom. I have to admit that it’s quite eerie, with the lack of lighting besides the entrance and the Lucky Purple Shorts. I think it’s also the same background music when we go into the Mines. Even though I expected the flying shorts, I still felt panicky trying to get out.
Stardew Valley players continuously find these amazing Easter eggs in addition to this maze and the Terraria reference. You can also bring cute companions such as fairies and frogs along your Mines and Cavern runs with the new Trinkets system!
