Squad Busters, Supercell’s latest sensation, has captivated gamers worldwide. Whether you’re a Busters fan or one of the lucky few who enjoyed its early release, there is still much to discover about this fun mobile game.
Many think there are only determined drops in Character Chests, but there is a drop rarity (it’s not always Babies out of the Chests!). I’ll further detail Character Chests, their drop rates, and their rarity below.
What are Character Chests in Squad Busters?
Character Chests is the primary (and the best) way to obtain new Characters and their copies in Squad Busters. If you’ve played other Supercell titles, the Character Chests function similarly to Starr Drops in Brawl Stars or Clash Royale’s Lucky Drops.
Don’t be confused by the in-game chests (where you can get your on-field Characters). Character Chests are the ones you obtain after a game, given that you buy Chest Tickets, or if you have a Win Streak.
How to get Chests in Squad Busters
The most straightforward way to get Character Chests in Squad Busters is by queueing up for a game with Chest Tickets. You may buy the chest tickets in the store; in my opinion, this should be the top priority for your gold expenditure. (More of that is in our guide to spending your gold in Squad Busters.)
Chest Tickets also recharge at one per three hours; you may store up to three at a time this way.
What are Chest Taps?
The rarity and size of the Character Chest may be increased with 
Chest Taps. The amount of taps you can do to a chest varies according to your placement in the game. Taps range from two for 10th placers to five for game winners.

Chest Rarities and Chest Cycle
Unlike what many Squad Busters players may think, the Chest Rarity follows a predetermined cycle and is not random. The cycle repeats every 60 chests and has the overall drop rate as follows:
COMMON CHEST (36/60)
RARE CHEST (18/60)
EPIC CHEST (6/60)
While the Chest Rarity is predetermined, the characters and how much you obtain are randomized.
Understanding Character Chest Drop Rates
If you’re still early in your Squad Busters journey, the priority for the Character Chest drop is introducing new Character units according to their level.
Moreover, the usual drop rate would be of Baby Characters, with only a slim chance of Classic or Super-level Characters (you cannot obtain Ultra or Ultimate rarities through Character Chests.)

I know these chances are extremely slim. That’s why most players only count on obtaining multiple quantities of a Character in the chests. The amount of Characters dropped by a chest is randomized and will increase depending on how many taps the chest receives.
Each tap adds an average of 0.9 units to your chest.
