Honkai: Star Rail has reached its highest monthly revenue following the success of Sparkle and Acheron banners.
Honkai: Star Rail is a turn-based strategic role-playing game for PC, mobile, and PlayStation 5. It was developed by miHoYo and published worldwide by HoYoverse, which also created popular games such as Genshin Impact and Honkai Impact 3rd.
In March 2024, Sparkle’s banner ran for the majority of the month, with Acheron’s following after on March 27. Both characters caught the attention of the players, especially Acheron. Players met these characters during version 2.0 through the Penacony main storyline.
The characters’ popularity is evident in Honkai: Star Rail’s March 2024 revenue estimate of $145 million, which beat its highest record of $81 million in sales in May 2023. The figures, sourced from Sensor Tower and displayed on Gacha Revenue, account solely for mobile (Android and iOS) revenue and do not include revenue from PC or console.
Sparkle’s Banner ran from February 29 until March 26. Many players pulled for her as she is one of the best support characters in the game. Not only that, but her character design and personality are intriguing for most players.
The long-awaited Acheron definitely boosted the game’s sales. She’s a top-tier DPS character and the first character to have the technique that allows insta-kills in the overworld. She’s also the Raiden Shogun or Raiden Mei variant of Honkai: Star Rail.
Both characters received extensive marketing through the game’s official social media pages. Players also enjoyed a top-up reset, meaning they’ll get double Oneiric Shards when they buy. These factors most definitely contributed to the rise in sales.
A Honkai: Star Rail player expected the current patch to make a profit, but it exceeded their expectations. They also stated that it’s only halfway through the patch, and the second phase looks promising with Jingliu and Aventurine.
Honkai: Star Rail is doing amazingly well in each version of the update they release. The upgrades to the writing of the main and side storylines, character designs, and events are paying off!
