Honkai: Star Rail fans are rallying behind Siobhan, advocating for her to break new ground as the game’s first “tomboy” playable character.
Honkai: Star Rail, developed by HoYoverse, has captivated fans with its expansive universe and engaging turn-based gameplay since its international release in April 2023. This fourth installment in the Honkai series has drawn players into a science-fantasy realm where they traverse worlds to quell the chaos unleashed by the Stellaron.
Amid this sprawling universe, a character named Siobhan has caught the community’s eye, sparking a genuine push for her to become the first “tomboy” character to join the ranks of playable heroes.
Siobhan, an NPC known for her tomboyish charm and distinctive design, operates the Dreamjolt Hostelry in The Reverie, setting her apart from the usual cast of characters where feminine female characters dominate.
Fans have taken to social media and forums to voice their support for Siobhan. One player emphatically asked, “Someone tell me she’s playable,” as they pleaded for her to be playable.
Meanwhile, others argue her detailed design suggests she’s meant for more than an NPC role. One player states, “Siobhan has a way too intricate design for ‘forever-NPC,’… so not all hope is lost here.”
“I just hope this means more event and story NPCs look a bit more unique like her in the future, and it’s not just a one-off thing,” commented another player, hoping that Siobhan’s design will lead to more distinctive NPCs.

One player added to the chorus of support, “She looks way too pretty not to be a playable character. Please, HOYO, give me a shorthaired tomboy.”
This sentiment is further supported by another player who pointed to a previous instance in HoYoverse’s gaming universe. They expressed hope that Siobhan could receive a transformation similar to a character from Honkai: Impact 3rd, Susannah, who was initially an NPC distinguished only by her hairstyle but later revamped into a playable character.
As this campaign gains momentum, it’s clear that Siobhan has become more than a character; she represents a shift towards greater diversity and representation within Honkai: Star Rail’s beloved universe.
