Gallagher is Honkai: Star Rail‘s latest Abundance character from the version 2.1 update. This guide will detail the best light cone options, relic sets, optimal trace levels, eidolons, and team compositions to include him in.
Gallagher
Gallagher is a 4-star Abundance Fire character that can heal a single ally, remove debuffs (when E2), and provide a way to heal when attacking enemies with the Besotted state. I’d recommend building Gallagher if you want to, need a Fire healer, or just lack healer support overall.
Best Light Cones for Gallagher
Gallagher is a decent healer support character, but you’ll probably be best building him only if you have his Eidolon 2 or more. If you do wish to build him, here are the best Light Cone options:
Best 5-Star Light Cones
Night of Fright
Night of Fright, Huohuo’s signature Light Cone, would be one of the best 5-star options for Gallagher. This increases his Energy Regen Rate by 12%. When an ally uses an Ultimate, Gallagher will restore HP for the lowest HP ally equal to 10% of the ally’s Max HP. When he provides healing, it increases the ally’s ATK by 2.4%. This can stack up to 5 times and last for 2 turns.
Time Waits for No One
Another option for Gallagher is Bailu’s signature Light Cone, which increases his Max HP by 18% and Outgoing Healing by 12%. When he heals allies, it will record the amount of Outgoing Heal. When an ally attacks, a random enemy takes an additional DMG equal to 36% of the recorded healing value. This would be Fire damage and is not affected by other buffs, only occurring 1 time per turn.
Best 4-Star Light Cones
What is Real?
Gallagher’s best 4-star light cone is “What is Real?” which increases his Break Effect and restores HP for himself when he uses his Basic ATK.
Shared Feeling
This is one of the 4-star light cone option for Gallagher, which increases his outgoing healing by a percentage. He also regenerates an amount of energy for his allies when he uses his Skill.
Best 3-Star Light Cone
Cornucopia
This is Gallagher’s last-resort light cone option, and it’s best if you get it to Superimposition 5. Whenever he uses his skill or ultimate, the outgoing heal increases.
Best Relics for Gallagher
Passerby of Wandering Cloud (2pc) + Thief of Shooting Meteor (2pc)
While Gallagher can wear a 4-piece Passerby of Wandering Cloud, the best sets would be a 2-piece Passerby and a 2-piece Thief of Shooting Meteor which would increase his Outgoing Heal by 10% and his Break Effect by 16%.
Fleet of the Ageless
The Planar Ornament set that’s best for him would be the Fleet of the Ageless, which increases his Max HP by 12%. If his SPD reaches 120 or higher, his allies’ ATK would also increase by 8%.
These are the ideal main stats for the relics and planar ornaments:

The sub-stats that would be best are the following: Break Effect, Speed, HP and then DEF. It’s best to focus on the main stats when grinding for relic sets.
Trace Priority for Gallagher
The main priority to level up would be Gallagher’s Talent and Skill until Level 8, especially if you’re solely including him as a healer. If not, you could also level up his Ultimate so he could pack a punch. The least priority would be his Basic Attack.

Best Eidolons for Gallagher
E2: Lion’s Tail
This is possibly the most important Eidolon for Gallagher to get since it allows him to remove 1 debuff from an ally when using his Skill. It also increases their Effect RES by 30% for 2 turns.
E4: Last Word
Gallagher’s Eidolon 4 extends the duration of the Besotted state inflicted by Gallagher’s Ultimate by 1 turn.
E6: Blood and Sand
This would increase his Break Effect by 20% and Weakness Break Efficiency by 20%.
Best Team Composition for Gallagher
While Gallagher can be placed in any team composition that requires a healer or support character, here are the best team compositions for Gallagher:
Acheron-centered Team with Gallagher
Acheron – DPS 
Pela – Debuff/Support 
Sampo – Nihility DoT 
Silver Wolf – Support
For this team composition, you’ll have Acheron as the damage dealer. You must pair Acheron with Pela or other Nihility characters, such as Sampo, to utilize her Trace “The Abyss.” You have the option to replace Sampo with Silver Wolf if you wish. Finally, Gallagher will be the one who will sustain and heal the team and also provide the break effect.
Mono-Fire Team with Gallagher
Himeko – DPS 
Guinaifen – Nihility DoT 
Topaz and Numby – DPS/Support 
Asta – Buffer
This composition is pretty straightforward; these are all Fire characters. Himeko would be the main damage dealer, and Topaz and Asta would support her further. Guinaifen can be included, replacing Topaz. Gallagher would, of course, be providing the healing.
Gallagher may only be a 4-star character, but he can be pretty good, especially if you only have the main character to sustain for the team. Personally, I’ve been building him so I would have another alternative to MC.
