Genshin Impact players noticed that there wasn’t a 4-star option for a ‘local guide’ in Sumeru.
Genshin Impact is an open-world action role-playing game developed and published in mainland China by miHoYo and worldwide by HoYoverse. It was first released in September 2020 for PC, PlayStation 4, and mobile.
Players would be in the shoes of the Traveler, the main protagonist of the game, who is in search of their lost twin. They would get to traverse the many regions of Teyvat in hopes of gaining information on their sibling’s whereabouts. While traveling, they meet new people, many of whom are playable and could be acquired through wish banners.
Getting new characters is really exciting as you experience new skills, but it could be difficult to acquire their ascension materials. Personally, collecting Violetgrass in Liyue is a headache, so it’s nice to have Qiqi for once. Qiqi is one of the ‘local guides’ characters with a resource-finding talent.
This was why a Genshin Impact player pointed out that there wasn’t a 4-star character ‘local guide’ option for Sumeru.
In the Reddit post, they shared a screenshot showing most resource-finding characters. Mondstadt and Liyue have 5-star and 4-star character options for ‘local guides.’ Inazuma has 4-star Gorou, while both Sumeru and Fontaine only have 5-star characters.
Another Reddit user also pointed out how long it took Genshin Impact to release a 4-star character with resource-finding talent for Mondstadt, the game’s first region. Mika was released during version 3.5, so it may take a while before players get 4-star options for both Sumeru and Fontaine.
A Genshin Impact player shared that Ningguang is still the only ore-sensing character that helps locate materials such as Cor Lapis and Noctilucous Jade. Some also stated that only Thoma has a fishing passive, while only Itto has the additional tree logs talent, which is handy for those invested in the Serenitea Pot.
It may take some time before players can get a 4-star character with the resource-finding talent for Sumeru and Fontaine. In the meantime, you could search for an interactive map to help you find those materials if you don’t have Lyney or Tighnari.
