Persona 5X has already reached huge pre-registration numbers in Korea and Taiwan, but global fans are yet to learn of a release date.
Persona 5: The Phantom X, shortened as Persona 5X, is a turn-based role-playing gacha game (RPG) by Black Wings Game Studio. This was published by Perfect World Games, those behind One Punch Man World and Tower of Fantasy. The game’s open beta will be available for Korea and Taiwan on April 18, 2024.
Persona 5X’s gameplay borrows mechanics from its predecessors, such as the Baton Passes and One More. However, it still allows players to enjoy ‘real life’ in the game while exploring and battling in the Metaverse.
The Persona franchise is well-received by the gaming community, with many of the fans excited for upcoming releases related to the game. Persona 5X is no different, as they hit 1 million pre-registrations in Korea and Taiwan.
A Persona fan tried the Chinese version of the game out of curiosity. They shared that despite it being a gacha game and the misleading advertisement with the 60 free pulls upon download, the devs nailed the Persona 5 style. They called for improvements on the mobile port as well as the story.
While Chinese, Korean, and Taiwanese players can enjoy Persona 5X this April 2024, global and Japanese fans will have to wait to find out whether the game will be released worldwide.
As a Persona fan myself, I’m looking forward to trying the game out when it gets released. It looks like it may take a while for the Global version, so players will need to wait, maybe watch gameplay of it, or replay their favorite Persona games for the time being.
