AsianGuyStreamer has revealed plans to quit content creation or take an extended break.
AsianGuyStream, or Atsu, is a YouTube content creator and Twitch streamer. These accounts were created in 2020 and 2015, respectively. He has over 448,000 subscribers on YouTube and over 396,000 followers on Twitch.
He is mainly known for his streams and content related to Genshin Impact, an open-world gacha role-playing game by miHoYo. However, in February 2024, he was involved in drama, primarily with Braxophone and Tectone.
In Braxophone’s document, he accused Atsu of excluding him from exclusive meetups, get-togethers, parties, conventions, and HoYoverse events from 2021 until the time he addressed the issue. He also made allegations about Atsu pressuring others to cover up a sexual harassment or assault incident in one of the events.
Atsu addressed the issues in a 43-page document and a YouTube video. In the document from AsianGuyStream, he stated that Braxophone and himself were good and apologized to one another after long talks to resolve misunderstandings or grievances. Since then, Braxophone has retracted many of the allegations against Atsu and removed the document he initially wrote from the public.
These events may have badly affected the content creator and streamer, who tweeted today, May 16, 2024, that he plans to quit content creation or at least take an extended break.
In the tweet, he stated, “I have a few more sponsored streams/videos to do but I’ve decided I’m going to be quitting content creation or at least taking an extended break.” He continued, “I’ll talk about why I’m quitting and the struggles I’ve been dealing with over the past 3 months after my sponsors are done.”
He also apologized for his inconsistencies with uploads in the past months, “I know I have been really inconsistent the past few months with uploads and streams, so apologies for that. It’s been a really difficult time for me, so I hope to make the last few ones as fun as possible!”
Many of his fans were saddened by the news but had been wishing him the best, “Whatever you end up doing I wish you nothing but the best in life All the bullshit aside your streams were a safe fun space and I hope you can find your own safety and comfort Thanks for all the laughs and I’ll be at as many streams as I can.”
Another fan said that they saw how much Atsu and his wife, Nekko, were having a hard time and the events had taken a huge toll on them. Despite hurting, they expressed that they’d still be supporting Atsu and Nekko, whatever their decision may be.
Nekko, also known as Nekkopii on social media, is no longer on YouTube, Instagram, Twitter, and TikTok, with only Twitch remaining.
AsianGuyStream’s decision to quit content creation or have a long break will be discussed possibly in a video, stream, or on Twitter in the future after his sponsorships are done.
