- Resistances and Damage Types: A pivotal aspect of the Skyclops battle is its alternating resistances. After summoning minions, Skyclops gains a hefty resistance to either physical or magical damage, switching with each summoning phase. This mechanic necessitates a roster capable of pivoting between damage types—physical, magical, and, crucially, true damage that bypasses these resistances.
- Minion Management for Resistance Breakdown: The summoned minions are not merely additional targets; they reinforce Skyclops’ defenses, making quick and efficient disposal of these minions a top priority. Eliminating minions is directly tied to breaking down Skyclops’ alternating resistances, making this aspect a core part of the strategy.
- Sweeping Laser and Area-of-Effect (AoE) Threats: Skyclops’ sweeping laser attack is a significant AoE threat that tests the entire team’s durability and the healer’s capacity to mitigate widespread damage. Surviving this attack often hinges on timely healing and may require strategic positioning to minimize its impact.

Understanding Skyclops’ skills is crucial for planning your strategy:
Ultimate: Skyclops charges briefly before releasing a laser beam across a 10-tile arc, inflicting 260% damage to all enemies in its path. Positioning and healing are crucial to surviving this attack, as it can be lethal to the team.
Skills:
- Summon Wings of Light: Skyclops becomes immune to targeting and gains damage immunity, increasing its physical damage resistance significantly upon summoning Wings of Light. The appearance of Wings of Light necessitates a focus on magical damage output.
- Summon Wings of Darkness: Similarly, summoning Wings of Darkness renders Skyclops immune and boosts its magic damage resistance. This phase requires a shift to physical DPS to continue damaging the boss effectively.
- Skyclops deals balanced physical and magic damage. Wings (Light or Darkness) enhances its damage output in the corresponding type, making it imperative to adjust your defensive strategies accordingly.
Best teams against Skyclops
It would be hard to survive without a healer for this boss since when I tested it, the laser beam dropped my team’s HP, leaving them vulnerable. Constant healing is the key to surviving this boss’ attacks.
Mauler team ft. Marilee
This team takes advantage of the faction bonus as the team is composed of four Mauler heroes. All your heroes will gain HP and ATK bonuses, thus making the team deal more damage.

Even in the tanking role, they can take the damage and survive the attacks, so make sure to put Smokey & Meerky in front of the team. They can also provide healing and buffs to the team, making them a must-have when fighting against Skyclops.

Brutus
Also doubles as a debuffer. Known for his skill, Brutus can survive fatal damage and continue fighting briefly, providing a crucial buffer time for healers to act or for DPS heroes to deal more damage.
Seth
Seth excels in soaking up damage and brings valuable debuffing capabilities to the table. His ability to weaken Skyclops while enduring the brunt of the attacks makes him a strategic asset to any team configuration.
Thoran
Thoran also doubles as a debuffer. His resilience and ability to return damage make Him a solid choice for tanking, and his durability ensures he can withstand Skyclops’ onslaught.

Besides his energy boost, Rowan’s healing capabilities ensure your team remains in fighting shape, mainly through his potions, which provide healing and energy recharge.

Not traditionally seen as a buffer, but his ability to increase haste for the team can be a significant advantage in maintaining pressure on Skyclops.
