The Stardew Valley 1.6 update added a hidden gift feature during Feast of the Winter Star.
Stardew Valley is a farming simulation game developed and published by Eric “ConcernedApe” Barone and was released in 2016. The game lets players become farmers who inherited their grandpa’s old farm and return it to its former glory.
Players are not stuck simply doing farm chores, as there are plenty of other activities to choose from. They could go to the Mines and go on an adventure there, head to the Beach to start fishing, or simply participate in the town’s events.
One of the events in Stardew Valley is the Feast of the Winter Star, the game’s version of Christmas day. As exciting as it is to get and give gifts on the actual event, a secret cookie feature gives you a mystery box!
In a Reddit post, one player asked, “Does leaving cookies out before the Feast of the Winter Star get you presents?” It has been confirmed that it was added in during the 1.6 update last March 19, 2024. Doing the same thing with any type of milk would also result in a mystery gift.
As I experimented on my test save file on Stardew Valley, leaving cookies on a table on the farm, inside your farmhouse, the backwoods, and the bus stop area gives you a mystery box. I believe that you could put a table and cookie on it anywhere and receive a mystery box
However, leaving one in Pelican Town on Winter 24 would result in you getting the mystery box on 26, since the table and cookies would be gone due to the event. Note that you can only get one per year, and leaving multiple tables and cookies around town won’t give you more.
So make it a tradition to leave both a cookie and milk on Winter 24 so you can get two mystery boxes, which Clint can open in the Blacksmith shop for 25g.
