Riot Games continues to tease content from its upcoming League of Legends fighter game with glimpses from Illaoi’s character kit.
League of Legends fans have something new to get excited about, and it’s not an upcoming Champion or a new seasonal game mode. Word about Riot Games’ upcoming fighter game, 2KXO, has been going around for quite a while – now, eager fans have some visuals to look forward to.
After announcing the game’s title, many fans eagerly awaited more details about 2XKO. Some visuals were released, such as the in-game art for Ahri, Gragas, and other beloved LoL Champions, but with the recent EVO Japan, we now have visuals of the much-anticipated game.
Riot Games made an exceptional move by releasing a gameplay teaser in the world’s most popular fighting game tournament.
Aside from bringing the action where it’s at, it also introduces 2XKO as an upcoming title ready to dominate the Esports scene, much like other Riot Games titles in their respective genres.
The six-minute video teaser shows a spectacular art style inspired by comic books and other two-dimensional mediums. Unlike the current trajectory of other fighter games, which prioritize hyperrealism, 3D, and seamless gameplay, 2XKO’s approach is more refreshing and easily classic in the current fighter game market.
League of Legends fans may already recognize the skills of each Champion in the upcoming game. While the mechanics differ, Illaoi’s tentacles and ultimate skill are still recognizable in 2XKO.
While the teaser focuses on Illaoi’s gameplay, we also get a glimpse of other beloved LoL Champions in the 2XKO art style. Don’t tell me Darius doesn’t look a little more threatening as a seasoned general in this style!
League of Legends fans have still yet to see other Champions take form in the 2XKO universe as the devs remain mum on their target release date.
Meanwhile, you can still sign up for the fighter game’s Playtest via this link to get early access and experience Riot Games’ new work.
