Stardew Valley’s next update will add new fishing and mining content, but the developer clarified that it won’t affect the timeline of the upcoming console release.
The world of Stardew Valley is full of life and provides a cozy farming sim for players who wish to relax and unwind. This was developed and published by ConcernedApe and released in 2016.
Players start the game with a run-down farm given by their grandfather, and it is up to them to restore the land to its former glory. While gameplay involves planting crops and caring for animals, players can also go fishing, mining, and conversing with the villagers.
Stardew Valley has been receiving patches since the release of the 1.6 update last March 19, 2024. ConcernedApe announced on X, “There’s another PC patch underway (1.6.4), which will fix more bugs and add a few goodies as well. It should be out some time next week.”
Many Stardew Valley fans became curious about the “few goodies” and asked the dev about it. In a reply, the dev hinted, “There’s a new fishing thing and some new mining-related stuff.”
Another player asked whether the new items would affect their current run and if they needed to start over for it. ConcernedApe responded, “You won’t need to start over.”
While it is exciting to have additional content for fishing and mining on top of trinkets and iridium rods, many were worried that the 1.6.4 patch would delay the release of the 1.6 update for consoles and mobile.
The developer reassured the console and mobile Stardew Valley fans, “It will not slow down the console release,” and “It will have no impact on the mobile release either.”
ConcernedApe has stated in a previous tweet on April 7 that the 1.6 update for both console and mobile is in progress and will be released as soon as possible. There’s currently no specific release date, but will provide significant updates.
