A Stardew Valley player reveals their way of bypassing seasons with a shed trick!
The world of Stardew Valley offers a relaxing gameplay experience. This was developed and published by ConcernedApe and released in 2016. In the game, players inherit a run-down farm from their grandfather in Pelican Town.
While there are plenty of activities to do in the game, such as farming, foraging, and cooking, I personally enjoy going out to the Mines and Caverns to explore and fight monsters. I may plant crops occasionally, but only to make more profit whenever I go mining and fishing.
Some players spend most of their time with crops and designing their farms to be functional and aesthetically pleasing. Crops, however, can also be grown in Garden Pots. This Stardew Valley player shared their sheds’ layout, which features these pots!
The player shared that the Garden Pots used Deluxe Retaining Soil and are harvested using the Iridium Scythe, which can be acquired after acquiring the Farming Mastery. They explained that the crops they planted could be harvested multiple times so players could fertilize and water them and not tamper with them afterward.
They further explained that the scythe can reach three tiles above but only two below and to the sides. They shared that players attempting to replicate the layout would require a ring (Magnet Ring) that helps them reach dropped items when they swing the scythe.
These layouts allow players to plant crops that last for all seasons as long as the Garden Pots are indoors. The only problem is that players won’t be able to use sprinklers indoors and must water them daily if they don’t have the Deluxe Retaining Soil used by the poster. The recipe for the retaining soil can be purchased from the Island Trader for 50 Cinder Shards.
It can also be seen that the player used Kegs and Casks in the middle lining of the layout, which provides more functionality and wouldn’t waste any space. These are used in making Artisan goods such as wines and juices.
While the Garden Pots in sheds strategy can be good for most plants, especially with the layout combined with multi-harvestable crops, it’s not applicable for all seeds. It’s best to use your Greenhouse for the Ancient Seeds (or other crops you want) so it won’t be affected by Winter.
