Sentinels CEO Rob Moore spent thousands to bring Moroccan IGL JohnQT to Los Angeles in time for their opening match against 100 Thieves.
After spending weeks in visa limbo in his home country after VCT Masters Madrid, JohnQT made it just in time to compete in Sentinels’ opening match against 100 Thieves for VCT Americas Stage 1.
JohnQT was labeled an instrumental IGL behind the revamped Sentinels lineup, bringing glory back home to the previously bashed and questioned North American team. However, many fans were disappointed by speculation that the Moroccan player would not make it to the regional tournament amid visa issues.
Sentinels were already prepared to gear up for their opener match with Curry as their sixth man and Zellsis as their IGL. But JohnQT got his visa stamped just in time, and the Sentinels CEO spent big to bring him back home in style.
According to Tarik, former CS:GO pro and Sentinels content creator, Rob Moore spent $5k USD to comfortably bring JohnQT to Los Angeles in business class. In his co-stream of the match against 100 Thieves, Tarik explained that the CEO “wanted to make sure that he is able to rest in the flight properly” as JohnQT is flying to LA the day before the match.
Sentinels’ shot caller proved that his boss’ huge spending was worth it, as the team had a fantastic opening match with a 2-0 series against 100 Thieves.
In a post on X, JohnQT told Rob Moore that the business class was “worth it.”
Fans of the VCT Masters Madrid champions had only positive words for the kind gesture of the CEO to his player. In a post on Reddit that shared Tarik’s clip, the comment section was flooded over how necessary JohnQT was to the team.
This is not the first time Sentinels fought an opening match against fellow North American team, 100 Thieves. Most notably, their rivalry dates back to the early years of Valorant’s competitive scene.
The VCT Americas Stage 1 is a weekly single-round-robin tournament until May 6. The top six teams will compete in play-offs for a slot in VCT Masters Shanghai.
