Necrodrakon in AFK Journey
Necrodrakon, one of the four Dream Realm bosses in AFK Journey, stands as a towering challenge for adventurers. This draconic entity embodies the darker aspects of dream magic, wielding powers that can devastate unprepared teams.
Necrodrakon Mechanics
Necrodrakon’s battle strategy is designed to test the limits of your team’s composition and agility. It targets the nearest hero, designating them as the tank, and relentlessly pursues them unless they move out of its attack range. Its arsenal includes the deployment of “Crest” bombs on heroes, which explode after 15 seconds if the hero remains stationary, causing substantial damage and debuffing attack power and energy regeneration.
Additionally, Necrodrakon unleashes an Area Denial Attack aimed at the densest cluster of heroes, making positioning your backline crucial. It also performs a devastating AOE attack thrice during the encounter, punishing teams that lack mobility or healing capabilities.
The greatest challenge comes from its ranged interrupt attack, which targets the two healthiest heroes, often including your primary healer, and disrupts your team’s recovery efforts. This necessitates a shift towards heroes capable of self-sustenance through life leech or shielding abilities.
Necrodrakon’s Attacks
Necrodrakon’s arsenal comprises a mix of devastating area-wide and targeted attacks, each designed to test the limits of your team’s strategy and resilience. Understanding these skills is crucial to forming a battle plan capable of withstanding the onslaught.
Ultimate
This attack is a periodic menace that damages all enemies. However, it doesn’t stop there; it also applies special effects that increase your heroes’ attack speed (ATK SPD) while simultaneously making them more vulnerable to incoming damage. Preparing for this means ensuring your team can quickly recover from the damage taken or mitigate it from the outset.

- Necrodrakon creates a mire in the area with the most enemies, unleashing continuous damage over time.
- Targeting the two heroes with the highest health (HP), this skill stuns them and drains their energy, disrupting your team’s ability to unleash their most powerful attacks.
- Periodically, Necrodrakon places a crest beneath enemies, dealing immediate damage and hampering their energy gain efficiency and attack power. This ability requires heroes who can either avoid the crest by moving or rely less on their ultimate skills for effectiveness.
Best teams against Necrodrakon
Based on my team testing, teams without healers are the ones that did the most damage, so strategic placement and characters selected are important factors to consider when building teams. Here are the best teams that you can use against Necrodrakon:
Standard Tank, Debuffer, Multiple DPS
This team focuses on dealing massive damage with a debuffer and multiple DPS. Based on my current team testing for Necrodrakon, it potentially has the highest damage ceiling and can sustain fairly.

The meta team composition might vary based on the heroes you have available, but the emphasis should always be on synergy, mobility, and damage output. I recommend using dual or triple DPS to maximize damage potential.
As for the Artifacts, use the Awakening Spell to sustain the team. The healing provided by this spell is can sustain the team but in case you see your team dying, you can replace a character with a healer to survive more but note that the goal of Dream Realm is to deal as much damage as possible.
