Are you ready to take charge of Valorant’s latest three-site map? Prepare for a winning streak by picking the best agents for Lotus in your ranked games!
With Haven out of the current map circulation, Lotus is the sole three-site map currently in play. As the first (and only, as of now) map to introduce the revolving doors, Lotus opened the door for new meta and strategies that we may not see on other Valorant maps.
While most Valorant players think the game is won with well-timed abilities and aim alone, players often forget one more significant factor – the agent composition. Having a well-picked team can mean victory even before the pistol round!
Below, we’ve listed the top agents for each role in Valorant’s Lotus
Agents like Reyna and Iso rely on player skill instead of the Agent’s abilities. We’ve decided not to include these two agents on our Best Agents in Valorant Maps lists.
Best Duelist in Lotus
Raze
Many players (including me) have learned the hard way not to instantly push the A site if there is a defending Raze on the enemy team. Her nade, combined with an Initiator flash, has set up many ace rounds for the explosive duelist on this map.
Lotus is one of the maps with the most corners, especially after its rework and updates. Raze’s handy satchel for entry helps the team scale faster during the attacking half. Moreover, her ultimate ability, Showstopper, is a powerful tool for securing kills or clearing out tight spaces.
If you’re looking for a Raze masterclass, look at recent VCT Masters MVP Zekken’s performance on Lotus as the duelist.
Best Controller in Lotus
Omen
In the recent patches and meta-changes, Omen has grown his on-field significance to being more than just a smoker. After continuous nerfs to Jett and Chamber, the mysterious Controller became one of the agents with the most mobility with his teleporting skill. Combined with his blind, the elevations and boxes on Lotus become a hunting ground for Omen and his poor prey.
Lotus is also one of the maps where rotates and site changes happen the most during mid-round, making a controller with reloading smokes highly necessary for a winning stride.
Viper
Viper is a top pick for the secondary controller slot if you’re running a double-controller team comp. While many players may argue that controllers like Harbor and Astra are also solid picks for the map, Viper’s versatility and current S-tier status grant her an edge over other counterparts.
Unlike other smokers, the American agent is also used as a pseudo-sentinel due to her decaying smokes and Snakebite molly. Given this flexibility, Viper is an asset for teams that bring her to the battlefield.
Best Initiator in Lotus
Gekko
If there is one game-changing meta that has shaken the strategies for Valorant in both ranked and pro play in recent years, it has to be Gekko’s recharging skills. This agent takes “reusability” to a new level, which can be vital in a map where retakes and rotations are imminent with many corners and boxes to clear.
Another reason to pick Gekko is the immense advantage that Wingman gives. Given the three-site layout, many defenders must rotate from other sites before retaking or fully defending your chosen site. Planting the bomb with Wingman while your teammates take a position to pick off enemies is a good strategy on this map.
Skye
No nerf will ever defeat the prowess of an agent with a kit like Skye. She blinds, she heals, she stuns, she gathers information, and can turn clutch situations into a hall-of-fame clip.
With a map as big as Lotus, gathering information is vital whether you’re defending or attacking. Her Guiding Light allows her to scout ahead without risking herself, providing valuable intel on enemy positions and movements.
Moreover, many first-minute fights happen on Lotus, where Skye’s heal may give your team more staying power in the game.
Best Sentinel in Lotus
Killjoy
Unlike Breeze and Split, where sites are too wide for a lockdown to be fully clear, Lotus features three smaller sites where Killjoy can reign supreme. This makes the German tech enthusiast a top pick for the Sentinel role on this map.
Given the three-site layout, it would be more beneficial for your team to run with a Sentinel who could fully solo-hold a site without needing much help from other teammates. Killjoy basically has two guns that can shoot at enemies (her own gun and her turret), so she can handle a push much easier than her counterparts.
Her Nanoswarm grenades may also push opponents out of advantageous positions or prevent access to key choke points, making it harder for opponents to carry out their plans.
Worst Agents for Lotus
Brimstone
Brimstone is nowhere near to being a “bad” Valorant agent by all means. It’s just that his kit doesn’t give your team an advantage on this map. Yes, he smokes, has a powerful ult, and has a molly, but all of these can be covered by other agents with replenishing abilities or a double-molly smoker like Viper.
The layout of the Lotus map also hinders extremely fast takes, as we would see on Icebox or Ascent, making Brimstone’s Stim Beacon a low priority for this map.
Deadlock
A map with three sites requires a Sentinel on your roster. However, Deadlock’s kit may not be the best option for the much-needed role. Sensors and a penetrable wall may not be enough to ward-off enemies who try to take the site. Moreover, these abilities wouldn’t be enough for a sentinel to solo-hold a site and pick off some attackers coming her way.
