A Helldivers 2 player warned players to finish missions quicker for one important reason.
Helldivers 2, the sequel to the critically acclaimed Helldivers, offers a new realm of chaotic, cooperative gameplay. This third-person shooter was developed by Arrowhead Game Studios and published by Sony Interactive Entertainment.
Players of Helldivers 2 enjoy going on missions and arriving at the surface of different planets to face various types of enemies. These enemies range from Terminids like Bile Spewers and Chargers to Automatons such as Scout Striders.
During missions, players are given specific objectives to complete. In addition to trying to complete these, they can collect samples and other loot, like Super Credits. However, due to these reasons, missions may take longer.
This was why one Helldiver on Reddit warned the players to “hurry up” and shared one of the training manual tips in the game. It stated: “The longer a mission takes, the heavier the enemy presence gets.”
They added that Helldivers 2 is a mission-based game, not a kill-the-horde game. The players’ kills wouldn’t level them up nor give them experience (XP). They advised others to complete the mission and move on.
Another Helldivers 2 player apologized as they forgot about this time mechanic from the training manual tip. They explained that they weren’t purposely taking their time but got pinned down by a chain of bug breaches.
A Helldiver also replied that this was sort of true, as every bug breach or drop ship increases the number of enemies. The longer a mission drags on, the stronger the enemy’s presence. They shared that their team could “stealth” the missions by walking around and ensuring their attacks wiped out the enemies before they could summon reinforcements.
While another player suggested that destroying outposts should reduce or delay the effect of more enemies spawning, this incentivizes players to clear them out at higher levels than avoiding them completely. They stated that these aliens were enemies of Super Earth and should be destroyed.
Helldivers 2 is a simple shoot ’em up that is fun for its players, but they should also note the loot they can get. Players should also remember that currencies are shared loot!
