Helldivers 2 players are growing tired of the “ridiculous” Charger armor, leading them to demand changes.
Helldivers 2 is a cooperative third-person shooter game developed by Arrowhead Game Studios and published by Sony Interactive Entertainment. The game was just released in February 2024 but is already one of the most popular games on Steam.
In the game, players land on a planet’s surface during a mission and encounter different enemies. This is why it’s essential to be well-equipped with the best stratagems and support weapons before heading out.
However, some players would still want to use their preferred support weapons over the more ‘meta’ or powerful ones. This is where things become difficult when facing the Chargers in the game.
According to a Reddit user, they believed that the Charger armor is too strong in comparison to its assumed threat level. They listed some reasons Chargers are too challenging, such as having heavy armor on almost all parts, and its exposed non-armored butt isn’t a weakspot.
They pleaded for the game to turn the leg armor to Medium so that the Autocannon could have some use for them or make the Charger’s butt an actual weakspot. They also noted that they use the Railgun when they try hard but would love to use other weapons without feeling that they’re sabotaging their team.
Another Helldivers 2 player said they were sick of the Chargers, especially past difficulty 7. They noted that there were many of these types and that they had no other option than the railgun.
They also complained about how these enemies take so much damage to the exposed leg and 90% reduced damage to their exposed ass. They added that they’d need to use specific stratagems and would take multiple shots on the legs before it became exposed.
In another reply to the post, one shared that these Chargers shouldn’t be able to sneak up on the players for how big and heavy they were. They need to make the footsteps louder or add vibrations when the enemies are a few feet behind to alert the players.
Helldivers 2, while its fun in multiplayer or even alone, still have some tweaks that could be made to improve everyone’s experience. The developers are constantly working on the game and communicating with the players on social media.
There will always be someone who cannot handle the difficultly a game produces. Chargers are fine.
